Tab is a web system frequently used by those who work in the Brazilian Unified Health System. It is used for understanding data on morbidity, mortality, births, procedures, and even funding. In order to make the ICF enter this language, a work in this respect was developed in Barueri City between the years of 2013 and 2016. A report on the subject is divided into two articles: “International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health , e-SUS and TabWin: the experiences of Barueri and Santo André, São Paulo”, published in the Revista Baiana de Saúde Pública in 2015, and ICF-WIN-S 2017, published in Revista CIF Brasil in 2016.
Required Steps:
Register patients on the portal, including CIF codes and other necessary information;
Use the “Export to Excel” button to create a data collection file;
The Excel worksheet, when ready, once a year or after the desired period, should be converted to Data Base File, that is, a conversion program from “.xlsx” to “.dbf” is required. These programs are easily found on the internet;
Download TabWin here or use another source;
The Data Base File (.dbf) worksheet should be saved in a new folder titled DBF under “ICF-WIN-S”> “CIF”> “DBF”> “file”. TabWin must be previously installed in Drive C, being a folder of files inside that drive;
Enter the folder “ICF-WIN-S” and click TabWin (with a picture of a magnifying glass in green color). When opening the program screen, click the “Edit” button in the upper left corner, and then in the “Edit file DEF or CNV”;
In the central frame (choose the directory), click ICF-WIN-S, CIF, DBF. When you click this folder, the DBF file that was saved will appear in the frame on the left side;
Select the file in the left frame and click it twice. When you do this, all variables will appear in the right frame;
Click Tools, and then click Generate CNV. CNV files will be generated automatically in the left column;
Go back to Tools and click on GERA DEF. Each variable will appear. You must rewrite each variable the way you want it to appear in future tabulations. If you prefer, you can keep them as they are. When finished, click save. For information: TabWin works with three types of files: DBF, DEF and CNV. All are generated automatically from an Excel spreadsheet source.
Ready! Now it is possible to tabulate the data in a way that you think is necessary, just click “?” TabWin main page.
